20,000 Minnesota Families Served in 2008!

I was working with the Center's Evaluation Manager yesterday on a press release I was reviewing for a new collaboration that the Center is involved with (sorry for being so cryptic, I can’t release the details of the collaboration until our partner makes their announcement… details coming soon!).

In the course of our conversation, she shared with me a ballpark figure for the number of Minnesota families that the Center’s network of housing counselors assisted in 2008:

Families Counseled for Foreclosure Prevention: 11,800+
(The complete 2008 Foreclosure Report is almost complete… check back soon for more details!)

Families Attending Home Stretch (Pre-Purchase) Workshops: 5,700+

Families receiving pre-purchase counseling: 1,500+

Families receiving post-purchase financial counseling: 200+

Families receiving Reverse Mortgage counseling: 400+

That means about 20,000 Minnesota Families benefitted from the free counseling services offered by the Center’s network of counselors!

Our counselors do amazing work! If you’d like to learn more about any of the services offered by our partners, please visit our website at
