Foreclosure Postponement on Kare-11

Minnesota's foreclosure postponement law was the focus of the "Take KARE of Your Money" segment on Wednesday, September 24th on the Kare-11 news.

Cheryl Peterson from Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity - one of the Center's partners in foreclosure prevention - was interviewed for the piece.

Renters in Foreclosure: KARE-11 Report

As we've posted about before (Here and Here, for example)... some of the people that are being affected by the current foreclosure situation in Minnesota have NEVER bought a home. Over and over again the Center hears about RENTERS that are affected by the fact that the property they are renting has fallen into foreclosure.

KARE-11 News has featured the story of a Minnesota renter that was forced to move due to the fact that her landlord had fallen into foreclosure.

Many times renters in a foreclosure situation don’t know where to turn for quality, trustworthy information. In the KARE-11 report, Matt Eichenlaub, Attorney for HomeLine and a friend of the Center, dispels some of the rumors regarding renters rights in a foreclosure situation.

Center Media Sightings

Additional details of President Obama's "Making Home Affordable" plan were announced today. The Center is working on producing pieces that can assist Minnesota Homeowners with the details of the plan.

Staff from the Minnesota Home Ownership Center have been interviewed today by WCCO-TV, KARE-11, and FOX-9 News, and the St. Paul Pioneer Press regarding the plan.

Catch us on the news tonight, or newspaper tomorrow! We'll follow-up with links to any of the pieces that air or are published.

Over the next few days, the Center will be producing fact sheets and blog posts to help homeowners understand both the modification and refinance details of the plan... and whether or not this plan is the best option for them.

Invited Back to KARE-11

The Center’s network of Foreclosure Counselors has been invited back to participate in a Phone Bank for KARE-11 viewers on Wednesday 18th.

Our Counselors will be available during the 4:00, 5:00 and 6:00 newscasts on the 18th!!

Due to the overwhelming response we received due to last week’s appearance, the Center has also made some upgrades to our phone system as well – and is ready, willing and able to handle the influx of calls.

We'll post pictures of the phone bank after the event. Don't miss it!
